(1) Vocabulary & Reading:
  1. Look at the Title – what do you think the article will be about? What area of law and what legal issues do you think it will talk about?
  2. Read the article very quickly – don’t worry about words that you don’t know – how would you summarise the article in 1 or 2 sentences?
  3. Scan the article and note down any legal vocabulary
  4. Scan the article and note down any collocations that you find.

(2) Bring along a copy of a piece of writing (e.g. email, memorandum, opinion etc) that is typical of the kind of work you do in English.
