AN IMPORTANT MESSAGE ABOUT ATTENDANCE
As there are an increasing number of you asking to go early each week, While I have no objection to letting you go, I feel it is important to remind you that leaving before the class officially finishes has consequences on your attendance. Like last term the University requires that you attend at least 70% of the course, however your attendance is based on a full lesson. If you leave after the break that is only half a lesson and if you leave at 6pm that is two thirds of a lesson. Even if you attend all 11 lessons in the course, if you leave at the break time every week, that amounts to only 50% attendance. This is a 3 hour lesson that finishes at 7pm - I do what I can to let you go early by giving you a shorter break. There will be times when you have a very good reason to leave early (e.g. a doctor's appointment) but you should arrange sporting, family or social commitments for after 7pm. If you do not have 70% attendance you will not pass this course and you will have to repeat it.
