HOMEWORK
Do some research on the internet and prepare a short (3 - 4 minute) presentation on a sportsperson. Use the article on p. 27 to help you with structure and what things to include. The person could be famous or inspiring or someone, like New Zealand runner Sylvia Potts, who overcame disappointment and defeat and dedicated their lives to the sport they loved.

If you missed today’s lesson please be prepared to give a presentation on one of the above topics in the final lesson on 15th December.
HOME
- Write a paragraph in your self study blog/notebook about today’s presentation. Did it go well? Why/Why not? Were you surprised by the timing? What do you need to work when you give a presentation in the future?
- Next week is the progress test so you need to do some revision on all the grammar and vocabulary we have covered in units 5a, 5b, 5c and 6a. There will also be reading and listening questions and you will have to write 2 paragraphs about the legal principles we talked about in class this term.
Remember that all the preparation you do for the progress test also counts towards your self study grade.

- Next week is the progress test so you need to do some revision on all the grammar and vocabulary we have covered e.g. tenses and conditionals. there will also be an error correction exercise as well as two CAE type tasks - an Open Cloze and a Key Word Transformation task. For extra practice go to CAE Practice Tests for examples (http://www.flo-joe.co.uk/cae/students/tests/pt1index.htm ). There will also be a question on describing graphs similar to the IELTS task we completed in class.
Remember that all the preparation you do for the progress test also counts towards your self study grade.
