British Council English Courses at the LUISS - All Groups

Self Study:

The European Court of Human Rights

Do you think the Court is too political? How much leeway should member states have when interpreting the Court's decisions? This will be one of the issues discussed at the Council of Europe Conference in Brighton this week. Also this week the Guardian newspaper is asking its readers to comment on The European Court of Human Rights. It would like you to talk about decisions which have changed the law and created an important precedent.  To read the article go to the following link http://www.guardian.co.uk/law/2012/apr/12/what-strasbourg-really-does?cat=law&type=article

Choose a decision and write about it. Why is it important? If you want to you can also comment directly on the web page before Thursday.
