Look at the statement below and answer the questions:

I am Irish, my name is Sean but if I were Italian, my name would be Giovanni.
  1. What is my real nationality?
  2. What is my real name?
  3. Is the statement about the past or the present?
  4. Which part of the statement is a conditional sentence?
  5. What tenses are used and why?

Homework

  1. Practise your listening skills with a DVD - Method: Watch a 5 minute scene 3 times first without subtitles, second with, third time without. Notice if your problems are due to vocabulary or fast connected speech. 
  2. Review all your vocabulary on advertising in preparation for in class preparations next lesson. 
  3. Comparison: Do the exercises on p. 53 (q 6a, 6b, 7) and p. 143 (G2 q 3, 4) on comparative and superlative adjectives.
