Homework
When we return after Easter on 5th April you will have your first written and oral assessments. To prepare for this please bring along a case which you will 'brief' first in written form and then present in class. Go to http://www.bailii.org/ and choose a case that interests you (and one that's not too long!), print a copy and bring it along with you to class. Alternatively you could use a case in English that a professor on your Law course has given you. Just bring the case to class, we will do the briefing together in class time on 5th April.

Dear Dr. Bell

This is Caterina Marino. I’m currently in your legal English (group 5 GPIV) class. After reviewing this post, I noticed that the "briefing" activity that we will do together in class, next Friday, is marked as our "first assessment". Unfortunately my returning flight (my flight company notified me the news only yesterday) to Rome was delayed so I won't be able to attend the upcoming class. How Can I make nevertheless the assessment? If you want, I can do my case brief at home and e-mail it to you, also attaching the chosen case.

Thank you for your consideration
(I emailed you yesterday to notify this problem but I wasn't sure if the email address I found is the right one, so I decided to post a comment too.)

Hi Caterina,
That's fine. You can email your case brief to me at seanjbell@hotmail.com. You don't need to attach the case as well you could just send a link to it.

Many Thanks,
Sean
