Feedback on Essays

  • Content: The question was generally well answered. Some candidates didn't talk about the future development of social media as a news source or spoke too generally about social media and therefore got a lower grade for content. 
  • Organisation: Good range of linking devices used.
  • Vocabulary: Good range of expressions for giving an opinion.
Corrections:
  1. Common people has not the experience.
  2. A good journalism is always reliable and doesn't give wrong informations.
  3. The news are an important part of our daily life.
  4. The different is going to be the way of its diffusion.
  5. In this essay I will discuss about the effect of social media on journalism.
  6. The age of ^ newspaper is not over.
  7. Social media make us get news in a little time.
  8. The internet is gaining always more and more space in our lives.

Homework:
Prepare for next week's progress test which is based on the grammar, vocabulary, fixed phrases and key language from Units 3 (International Relations) & 8 (Journalism & Media). There will also be skills task to test your reading and listening.

The best way to prepare is to do something (e.g. listening to the CD Rom, the extra practice on pages 139 & 149) rather than just reading over your notes.
